Men
The Vision
At VCC, we believe that men were never meant to walk alone. We are a fellowship of men walking in the light and keeping our gardens—choosing to show up, take responsibility, and pursue meaningful relationships over isolation. In a world that often pressures men to hide or go it alone, we aim to be different. We walk in the light together, trusting that God meets us in our honesty, our struggles, and our brotherhood.
The VCC Men’s team is committed to creating spaces where men can be real, grow in faith, and strengthen one another. Whether you’re exploring faith, rebuilding your life, or looking for deeper connection, there’s a place for you here. You can build meaningful relationships through Men’s Groups that meet regularly for prayer, Bible study, and encouragement. Experience powerful moments of worship and story at Light Nights, and don’t miss our annual Men’s Retreat at Mount Hermon—a weekend in the redwoods to rest, grow, and connect with other men.
Weekly Groups
Men’s Book Study
We believe spiritual growth happens best in honest, consistent fellowship. This fall, we invite you to walk in the light with us as we read STEPS: A Guide to Transforming Your Life When Willpower Isn't Enough by John Ortberg. This biblical and practical book explores how lasting change happens not by doubling down on effort, but by cooperating with God's grace through clear, intentional steps of spiritual growth. Groups meet Mondays and Thursdays.
The Samson Society
The Samson Society is a fellowship of men who are serious about authenticity, community, humility, and recovery. This is the best place to start if you are in any kind of struggle with sin or looking to walk in the light with other men but not sure where to start. We meet Fridays from 5:30-6:30 PM at the church. Email samsonpleasanton@gmail.com for details.
